Is it possible to use UPS as an electrical jack?

Answering this question, it was necessary to see how the UPS intended to use the function to power it, what type and what features it was. Depending on the UPS feature, people can use them instead of electrical jacks or not. I think the majority of people who have this question are those who want to take advantage of the UPS available for power generation at the time of power outages. If you do not know there are many different types of UPS, you can look through the documentation. UPS to know what your existing model is, its quality. Note that most UPS used in computers, printers and servers are usually designed with modified sine wave because they are suitable for electrical equipment without inductance and they are also offers higher performance than UPS for sine waveform. Only very few UPSs are used in medical fields or with inductive loads (fans, motors …) or in devices that use analog technology, they are required to use sine waveforms as in civilian electricity. Most low-power UPS (300-600VA range) uses 2 12V 4 to 7Ah batteries or smaller, so their energy can only contain up to 24 × 7 = 168Wh. With such a capacity, most UPS can only discharge for a few minutes (for about 30-30 minutes for large capacity UPSs – but under light load conditions). Most types of UPS Small and low cost often do not design too carefully to identify the remaining battery capacity so they are pre-set for power generation in minutes and then automatically turn off – even if the battery capacity is left much. Such settings are to ensure that the battery is not in use or the UPS lacks power to generate sufficient capacity. Because of these settings, even if you replace the internal batteries with a larger set of external batteries, the result is that UPS will only work with time … as before.
For larger UPS (size 1000VA or more), they can still use only 12V 7Ah batteries but are more well-assembled – such as 24V, depending on the capacity they use. Use voltage levels of 36V, 48V, 96V or higher.

These types of UPS are more expensive and more advanced – including the function of stopping power supply when the battery capacity reaches a certain safety level (rather than just turning off after a certain time like the type above). Although it is not rigid to fix the power-down time for a few minutes, many large-capacity UPS still set this time interval in the tens of minutes or after the total amount of time that the designer thinks has been it’s time to stop to ensure battery life. There are these troubles because the designer always thinks that UPS is only used to prevent power failures for the system in a short time.

The use of large-capacity external batteries to replace the internal batteries of large capacity UPS is possible if the following conditions are ensured:

– UPS does not cut off power after a few minutes or a few dozen minutes – or may interfere with UPS so that this function is disabled. (Some of you have an opinion about using mechanical push-and-pull methods – but this is not radical because of interruptions during power generation – such a flickering power supply could be harmful. for used devices).

– The UPS charging unit is not damaged (resulting in damage related to other circuit parts or wrong operation) when charging with an external battery system (mostly due to internal charger designed with small charging lines to match their small capacity batteries). Excessive charging can also be corrected by using external chargers and disconnecting the battery from the UPS when being charged with an external charger. Never use two chargers simultaneously at the same time because the mechanism of action of the loaders will be affected each other.

Using UPS is often a frustrating thing as they constantly sound reminders about the standby mode.
